Two-Cent Jars of Baby Food!

Reader Sarah B. Wrote with this awesome Target/Gerber deal that allowed her to get 40 jars of Gerber baby food for 80 cents:

1. Print this Target coupon for $1 off two Gerber toddler or baby foods. Sarah printed 20 copies!
2. Buy two jars of Stage 2 Gerber food. At Sarah's Target they were $.52 each.
3. Repeat until shelves are empty!

Oh, and if someone tells you Target doesn't accept web coupons, ask to speak the manager. They do. I haven't had any probems using them, but a couple of you have said you've run into some ornery clerks. Thanks, Sarah!

We recently used a web coupon at a local target and they tried very hard not to take their own web coupon. Although they let us use ours- a supervisor came over and began training the cashier in not-taking them anymore! Their own web coupon!

Angie- do you know if Sarah used 20 coupons at one check out time. I am hoping she did not have to keep going through line.

I am going to talk to my boss at work today...I work at Target and I'm an avid shopper there and I have NEVER turned down a coupon from Target...being a customer, I've never had one that I couldn't use there. SuperTarget or not. I will ask my bosses at work today, but it's a bunch of crap. I've never been told that I couldn't take a Target Web Coupon--where else could you use them? Some say that Target.com is really through Amazon and blah blah blah. Well, then it should say that it's Target.com only or osmething like that. And if it wasn't real and it was only online, then it would be in the form of codes and not barcodes...ya know? Anyways, I will talk to my bosses tonight at work and get back to you all this weekend :)

I get these coupons in the mail, but I have no idea where to find coupons like this online an di work at Target! Like that Luvs BOGO coupon...where do they find these?

And you can use all of them at once :) We were handing out coupons for free Dasani flavored water last weekend and one guy used 10 and it was no problem in the computer

Jackie said...

OH, and the next time anyone at the registers tells you that they can't accept it before they scan it, tell them to scan it--computers are smart, if the computer wont accept it, then it isn't valid or its a bogus coupon. But I've never had a problem as a cashier or as a customer. I am so sorry some of you are going through this crap :)

Amy said...

The coupon cleary states only 1 at a time. How do you get away with using more than 1?

Jackie said...

I always accept them and the computer doesn't say anything. When there was that luvs BOGO coupon, I used three of them at once and no one complained. The computer didn't act up, the cashier didn't say anything. I dunno. *shrugs*

These coupons I also use at Meijer because they take competitor coupons...Meijer is usually cheaper and I just bought my daughter 60 jars and 2-packs of baby food and when using these coupons and combining them with other coupons I got all 60 jars for FREE!!!

Jenna said...

Re: Amy's question...The coupon states, "limit one item or offer per coupon." Meaning, you buy 2 jars and use one coupon... You can't buy 2 jars and use 2 coupons. But you can buy 4 jars and use 2 coupons, etc. One coupon for every 2 jars. Does that make sense?

Anonymous said...

I work at Target also and we do accept these web coupons. I am a cashier supervisor up fron so I would know. The only reason why we might have given you a hard time is because recently we have had guests creating coupons on their computers that look like they are from Target. When we went to scan them, the barcode wouldn't work and when we went to type them in, it also wouldn't work.

These Gerber coupons don't scan, but they do type in.

That is why the cashiers have been very cautious about not only these coupons, but also any web-printed coupon even if it does have the Target Bullseye.

I used these coupons today at Target and Meijer and Walmart. I checked with the service desk at Meijer and Walmart first to make sure they took them and got the name of the person I spoke with. Meijer has the double packs on sale also which made it an even better deal.

I would love to get 40 jars for 80 cents, but where I live, Target doesn't sell Gerber jars anymore-haven't for a long time. So you would have to buy 2 of the 2-pack plastic containers which are a little over a dollar each, and with the coupon they would be 1/2 off. Still a good deal--instead of paying a little $2 for 2 of the 2-packs, it would just be a little over a dollar. I'd be interested to know what part of the country Sarah lives in where they still sell the Gerber jars.

Thanks for the info !! We stocked up BIG time !!! We used $70 worth of coupons -- I am not kidding :) I think our daughter is not going to need anymore babyfood. :)

I just wanted to say that this works...I actually printed 60 coupons. When I got to target I noticed that some of the jars of stage 2 were .49 and some were .52. I also got a few that were 1.24. all in all, I spent $6.41 on 128 jars of baby food, that is over $60. I went through the line 3 times, but there was no problem AT ALL with me using 20 coupons at a time. If you were to get the right cashier, you could probably use more than 20. I just did not want to be a pain in the butt!

But this coupon is GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

I just wanted to add to the post right before this one...I bought the jars from a louisiana store. but you could try and use the coupons at a store that accepts competitor coupons.

this coupon is great! where did you find it? i have been trying to get more online coupons like this for other baby products but haven't been able to find any. is there a certain website or is it through target.com? thanks!

We used these coupons at our local Target (KY) yesterday...50 of them to be exact. The cashier gave us no problems and actually loved the idea of using these coupons. (He was bored from no customers, I think...or hyped up on 'Dew). Oh and they all scanned, none had to be keyed in. Great detective work...keep posting the great coupons!

Anonymous said...

I have used the coupons on 4 times now each time using over 40 at a time. The last time I used them the jars were on sale for .47 and I used 52 coupone and got 104 jars for FREE. I have purchased over 400 jars so far with no plans to stop since the coupon does not expire until the 15th of next month. I figure if my twin girls do not eat it before they expire in 09 I will sell for .25 and make a little on the jars. I make one trip to a Target and empty the shelves. I have family in other states helping as well.

Vicky said...

Thank you for this great coupon!!! :) I can't wait to hit our local Target!!

I have been using this coupon for a couple of days now. I got baby food for FREE!! It was $0.49/jar at my Target!

i have a question, does anybody have the link from the gerber website that has the $@ off coupon for rice cereal or baby food? you need to clcik yes to a coupon generator and my comp doesnt recognize it, anybody care to copy and paste the link directly? thanks! I figure, combining it with the target coupon should be real savings!

Two days ago I went to the Target near our local mall and used 20 coupons- no problem at all.
Then I went to use the same coupon at the Target here near my home and the cashier would not accept them and stated that they 'dont accept web coupons.' After all that baby food was rung up- I said "thats fine... then I dont want any of it."

It doesn't make sense that some stores take them and some stores don't. If they are having any issues with them, they shouldn't have them at all, or more clearly state restrictions (ie One offer per customer, etc) It sucks that my home town Target won't take them... but I'm more then willing to shop at the mall Target to get the deal.

Anonymous said...

I tried it today and they said I could only use one coupon. I couldn't find anywhere on the coupon that it had any restriction at all, but I'm too shy to put up a fight. I've never heard of a store limiting coupons to only one. I can understand a limit of 10, but one is ridiculous. So I bought two jars and left the rest. One of the coupons I had was a regular coupon too, it wasn't even a web coupon, and they wouldn't let me use more than one.

I just went to Target last night and this deal is the greatest. I have three girls and my wife is expecting again, probably another girl but I love them all. I used 45 coupons and there was no questions asked. The only downfall was the lack of variety in the food. I am going to try other Targets because the one by our house is small. Love the deal and I will still go abck and get more. A little advice, go later in the evening so the cashiers and the rest of the customers don't get mad about you slowing down the line, they have to scan each coupon individually. It is worth it's wait in gold.

Is everyone printing the coupons in color, or does it matter if I use grayscale? I'm really cheap and don't want to use color ink if it's not necessary!

JennB said...

I used gray scale at 2 targets. Total of almost 50 coupons between the 2 stores. No problems at either. The selection at my 2 stores was the same. Hopefully my son will not get tired of Oatmeal and applesauce! :O)

This coupon is great..my son is only 2 months old and i've already bought all the baby food he'll probably need until he's one. I've even bought some graduates too. If you go on the gerber website there is a $5.00 rebate on graduates food so basically it's free after the rebate and coupon!! and also there are gerber coupons on there that you can combine with the target coupon for more savings!

Just a lil fyi... Albertsons accepts all other store coupons, including Targets. Right now the lil stage 2 jars are on sale 2/$1 so when you use the coupons they're free! Plus they have a bigger variety to choose from. Stock up while you can! I've already gotten over 200 jars so far for FREE!

Scott and Jeanne said...

Maybe it was just my Walmart-but I did what another gal did and checked at the service desk, and they said they don't accept them because they didn't have "manufacturer coupon" on them. She said it was a promotional thing from just Target, and they wouldn't get reimbursed. Angela---did Albertson's really take your coupon? I live thirty minutes away from the nearest target and 15 from the nearest Albertson's--I don't want to be rejected by every store.

Angela said...

Yes, Albertsons accepted my coupons. I called ahead of time and spoke to the manager to make sure that they would take it even though it was a Target coupon. They said as long as the coupons are from major chain stores that they would accept them. When I went to go use them, the cashier couldn't get them to scan, but since I already had the managers approval they took them anyway. I used 75 coupngs at once... I totally cleaned out thier shelves! They could't believe I got all that baby food for free!

Anonymous said...

what was the link for the target coupons? It was posted in last weeks blog, but I can't find it. (not the link for just baby stuff, but the one that also had food coupons)

I have been hitting the Target, have no problems with the coupons, it is the sometimes lazy cashiers who do not want to take them...

Ellen said...

I find this so great that people are talking about theses coupons all over the web. I got the link for the gerber coupons from a friend on a message board and people are buying this stuff like it's going out of style.

My husband took 2 trips to 2 different Targets with 200 coupons and used all of them without a problem. We are now stocked up with months of baby food.

We plan to go back again with another 100 coupons and then we should be all set for a long time.

I would love to find jars on sale though for $.50 or less and get them for free. That's amazing!

work at walgreens and we have weekly coupons and sales like any other store but if you didnt already know diapers usually have a coupon in the add or "easy saver" coupon book (you can ask the clerk for one) and if you have a manufactures coupon you can use both coupons

Anonymous said...

Does anyone know how long you usually use stage 1 & stage 2 baby food for??? And what age ranges? I don't want to buy too much or too little!!! Thanks

Anonymous said...

My local target was really pissed so many people have come in, and they would only allow me to use ONE coupon. I was only trying to use 5 coupons.
This stinks.

Anonymous said...

I just printed 10 of those Target web coupons for baby food. I am going down today to Target to get some baby food. And just to verify, the coupon states Limit one item or offer PER COUPON, not PER VISIT. Nobody should have any problem using these coupons.

Amanda said...

I have used over 20 coupons at once at the local Cleveland, OH Targets. Not only can you use the target coupons from the web, but you can also use the manufactures coupons from your local paper, or direct mail. I walked out of target saving over $35, combining these coupons. Kids are expensive, save money where ever you can!

Anonymous said...

I love this coupon. I have been to target about 4 to 5 times and sent some family members out to get them too. Each time I go with 30 coupons and they take them all at the same time. I have told everyone I know about the coupons.
THANKS>>>>A MILLION!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

I was at Target twice today - 30 coupons the first time and 45 the second. I told the cashier in advance that I had a lot of baby food and a lot of Target coupons. One of the cashiers was so excited because she has a baby and couldn't wait to print out her own coupons. Don't be shy about speaking up. You are in the right and this is a HUGE savings!

We saved a ton of $MONEY$
Last week I used 30 coupons at one time and today used 20 more during a single transaction. I had no problem with using these.

I did select to go through lines with younger employees because one day I asked an employee who was older how many coupons I could use at one time and she told me I could only use one per transaction although the coupon does not say that. My advice...Try not to go through the 'Employee of the Month's" line!

Today I went to the store and watched a woman purchase 120 jars of baby food. The cashier rang in all the coupons. Her register receipt was about 8' long.

When my turn came I used 5 coupons. The cashier said I should buy in bulk like the woman before me. I would have, but there really wasn't any jars of food left on the shelf.

Anonymous said...

We used 200 coupons today. 100 at one target and once we cleaned them out we went on to the next target and cleaned them out too. We bought $250 worth of baby food and only spent $70. YES it works.

The Simpsonville,SC Target store told me today that I could use only ONE coupon per transaction. That was after scanning well over 100 jars. When I argued that the coupon says nothing about a limit per transaction, I was told that was their policy. I should have had them check me out two jars at a time!!! Don't go to this store.

We printed out 2 sheets of this coupon (36 per page) and headed off to Target with our 2 small children. We put 72 jars in a cart (thus just using one sheet of coupons) and checked out just fine; the cashier had no problems. Then we decided to go ahead and use the other sheet while we were still there. So we put 72 more jars into the cart (after putting our purchases in the car and coming back in), but we went to a different cashier. Well, after all the items were scanned, my husband handed the cashier the sheet of coupons, and the cashier said, "Uh...I don't think I can take this whole sheet" and had the manager come over. The manager said, "No, you can't use all of these...just one, but I'll let you use 15." My husband said, "but I've already done this before," and the manager said that it shouldn't have happened. Even though the coupon clearly says, "Limit one offer per coupon," the manager thought it meant "Limit one coupon per purchase." Anyway, my husband said, "Ok, I'll just go through another line then." The manager said, "I'll be watching, and if I see you go through another line, I'll deny you." So we just left. We'll probably try using our other sheet of coupons at another Target here.

i brought in 20 coupons. asked at the customer service desk 1st where they said yes, but at checkout 3 clerks took me down. i was soooo mad - spending my time in Target after getting my baby to sleep and getting shot down even after double checking! i emailed Target.

This is a great deal! Over the past week, I've gotten about 200 of the stage 2 cans, and a dozen of the Graduates jars, plus a couple of their other snacks. My grand total is right around $5.50. Insanely good deal!!!

Kimberly_H said...

I know the coupon is expired now, but I have used them at 2 different targets in Washington state and had NO problem. I had 20 coupons each time. My friend in Florida was told she could only use 4 at a time. They managed to convince the supervisor to honor all 20 coupons. I think it varies from store to store and if the cashier is just being weird.

I can't get the target coupon generator to open...is anyone else having problems?

Anonymous said...

I think Target should not create coupons that they don't feel like honoring. I can't believe that they forced someone to "shut down" the coupon generator. The coupons were not fraudulent; they were official Target coupons... thier registers would not have recognized them if they were fakes. They were still making money on the product, I know plenty of people that are "too good" to use coupons. I am personally going to let Target know that I am upset about this, maybe if enough people complain, and make it known that they are upset as well we can have this wonderful too for saving money back!!!!

So how do you do it? go around and around through the checkout aisle?
They wouldn't take all of them at once right?
