A Giveaway ... Because Having Kids Gives You Wrinkles

Well, that's not really the reason. All my readers are young and beautiful and in no way need the product I'm going to giveaway. However, when somebody contacts me and says they'll give my readers $100 worth of free face stuff, It's kind of hard for me to say no. I'm giving away a Frownies Facelift in a Bag! It's a gift set that includes:

  • Frownies Facial Pads
  • Frownies Rosewater Hydrator Spray
  • Frownies pH Balancing Complexion Wash
  • Frownies Immune Perfect Wrinkle Cream
You can read about the products at the Frownies site.

To enter the drawing, just leave a comment below telling us about something your kid has done lately that's erased the frown right off your face.

Here's an example: I'm sternly explaining to my son why he's on the naughty spot and he jumps up, throws his arms around my neck and tells me he loves me. Presto! No more frown.

You can leave a comment through midnight (Atlanta time) Friday night. I'll draw randomly and announce the winner in Sunday's Top Diaper Deals post. Be sure to check the post, because you'll need to email me your name and addy if you win.

Good Luck!

This Contest is Closed to New Entries.

My 3 1/2 year old daughter has been constantly testing me with her newfound jealousy and anger issues stemming from Baby Brother being days away from his due date. But yesterday, when Mommy was just grumpy from having contractions all day that went nowhere, she climbed up on the couch with me (in the midst of her coloring) and, patting my belly, said "It's okay, Baby Brudder, Mommy just misses you. Come see us now, uh-kay?" :-) Definately a frown eraser.

I was having "one of those days" a few days back. Nothing, NOTHING was going as planned. I got a flat tire, had to wait 2 hours at the tire shop, then was out of gas, late picking up my oldest from 1st grade, and just in an overall yucky mood. When I did get my 1st grader in the car, she said "Mommy, you know what the best time of my whole day is?" I didn't have the answer, but she quickly said "when I see you here to pick me up. It is like the sun is shining!" Poof, no more bad day!

With first trimester morning sickness kicking me in the rear, it's hard just to make it through a regular day at home with my 15-month-old. She's just learning to hug to show affection and those hugs come few and far between, usually punctuated by Mommy or Daddy exclaiming "Awwwww!" in thanks for the sweet show of love. She saw me leaning back on her little lamb chair, exhausted after helping her clean her room, and came over, laid on my lap with her arms around my growing tummy, and said, "Awwwww!" Bye bye, frown!

Okay so I'm come home from work and am faced with a mountain of laundry, chores and try to get dinner on the table. Not to mention my loads of Graduate home work to do. Then my 10 month old crawls up to me, I pick him up and he gives me the best kiss ever. You know the ones I'm talking bought open mouth a drool all over....yeah makes my heart melt every time!

I was a bit grumpy about being awoke early this morning by one of my twin girls (almost a year old) because she did not want to go back to sleep. After enduring as much whining as I could stand, I got her up and began to make breakfast. I gave my daughter some Cheerios to distract her while I got her breakfast together.

She had her fill, and then held up a Cheerio for me to eat from her hand with a big smile. When I got close, she pretended to put the Cheerio in her mouth, took a nibble off of it, laughed, and put it in my mouth!

I'm trying to get 1 1/2 year old daughter to sleep in her "big girl bed". But she wants no part of it. So the other night hubby finally puts her in bed with us after what seemed like 3 hours of screaming. I give her the "I thought you were a big girl talk". As soon as I'm finished she climbs on top of me gives me kisses gets off says night-night and SSHHHH. Made me smile while I drempt off to sleep.

Our 25 month old daughter is still adjusting to her new "big girl bed". She loves it...but also loves the freedom to get out of it. Yesterday after trying to get her to take a much needed nap (for her and I) for two hours I finally decided to give up and just go for an early bedtime. As I'm walking towards her bedroom, ready to reprimand her again for getting out of her bed, she knocks on the inside of her door (we have a child proof handle on her side of the door so she can't open it) and says in a very happy and cheerful voice, "I'm awake now! I'm awake now!" Somehow I just couldn't be upset anymore:)

My daughter Hailey does nothing but run, gets into EVERYTHING, loves to tell us no, pretends she doesn't hear us when we ask her to do something(or stop doing something), and still doesn't sleep through the night (at 18 months!). Why does that all make me smile? Because I'm so blessed to have a beautiful, healthy child who is able to run, play, and get into trouble. She is anything but easy, but everything she does makes me smile just because she's here.

As I'm stressed out packing for a trip, I hear my 3.5 year old son humming through the house: it's the Darth Vader march. I hope that's not foreshadowing for the days to come. :)

today I was feeling super lazy, and finally decided to go for a walk with my son...so i got the stroller out, and while I was doing that, I guess he decided to do a good deed for mom, when I turned around there were my flip flops, he had gone to the door and grabbed them, and put them on the couch, all ready for me to go on a walk, he even got the matching pair, what a smarty....

Almost every time I am ready to give a time out to my almost 3 yr old daughter, she says to me "I be good girl, Mommy. I be good girl." That makes me smile although she usually still gets the time out!

My three year old daughter had her three year old checkup the other day and wouldn't say a word to the doctor until he said he had been at the hospital. And she said "doctor I want a brother and sister for Easter " We all had a good chuckle and she said nothing else.

My 1 yr old is a flirt. Has been since he figured out the difference between the sexes (sometime around 6 months). He flirts with every female in his eyeline.

The other morning I dropped him off at daycare and they had a new baby who was in the bouncy seat. Off he goes, making a beeline for her. The daycare worker was nervous as my son is not known for being gentle. Should have counted on his flirt gene to pull him through.

The 2 month old nearly smiled as he tried to play peek-a-boo with her, tickle her feet (OK, grab them) and make the bouncy seat bounce. Made me smile that he enjoys trying to make other people smile while he entertains himself.

just days after recovering from the flu and still feeling a bit crappy, my 3 yo daughter and I were playing "beauty parlor". after "making her up", I told her she looked pretty. then right before she gave me a big hug, she shyly said (never mind that she's fairly out-going) I always look pretty to her.

Oh, the wrinkles, how they come faster now.
Yesterday the wriggling toddler voluntarily laid in the grass with me and watched clouds go by. He rolled over to me and said 'Wow, clouds.'.
Yep. Wow, buddy. Melted my heart and helped me realize the value of throwing out the to-do list to lay in the grass more.

My son is learning to use the toilet to go bathroom. I came home and asked him if he went poop today, and he smiles and pinches his nose with his finger, squenching his nose like it was stinky. So cute and what personality! Where do they learn these things?

I was trying to get some work done on my laptop while my baby son was next to me and he started whining to be picked up. I said, "What, you don't like Google?" and he started giggling. So I repeated "Google" and every time I said it he just about rolled of the couch laughing.

After a bad day then coming home to a messy house, I argue with my hubby about cleaning up more while loading up the dishwasher, then my little 15 month old daughter walks into the kitchen, looks right at me and says "mommy!" with the biggest smile and look of love in her eyes, it made me realize what a crazy thing it was for me to be focusing on the negative when I had such a little treasure I should have been focusing on instead. That was the end of my bad attitude that day! It really is a poof effect! :-)

My husband had been gone out of town for 2 weeks and I was beyond my wits end. My son had yet another stinky diaper and of course.. after I open up the diaper and clean his bum with wipes I reached in the drawer to grab a diaper and was all out. I closed the dirty diaper up.. Ran back to the nursery as fast as I could to grab some diapers and came out to a smiley, happy "Hi, MOM" from my baby and poop and pee all over my new wool rug and hardwood floors. I could'nt help but smile when he looked at me with those handsome eyes like he was proud. :)

My 15-month old never wants to go to bed, even when he's clearly exhausted. He's learning to sign, so as he lays in bed, he tries to chat with me to extend the day:

Baby (signed): "More?"
Mommy: "No more. Today is all done."
Baby: "All done?"
Mommy: "That's right, all done."
Baby: "Cheese? Please?"
Mommy: "No, no cheese. It's sleepy time."
Baby: "Sleepy!"

Who could frown at our Wisconsite son wanting cheese at bedtime!?

A couple weeks ago I watched the movie D.A.R.Y.L. with my 5 year old son. In the movie a boy calls his sister "hookie--she's a hooker cuz she goes out with a lot of guys". He asks me "What's a hooker?" I thought for a moment then said "It's a woman who makes bad choices with men." Then this last Saturday I was at a stamping workshop and my husband text messages me -- "I'm sitting at the table eating when Ethan asks 'Dad, do you know what a hooker is?'. I said 'yeah, do you?' Ethan says 'it's a girl who makes bad choices with boys......is mom a hooker?'"

My husband about choked on his food laughing and said "no, mom is not a hooker". After receiving the text message I was dying laughing as well!

I'm sick and wearing/inhaling saline through my nebulizer mask while breastfeeding Amelia, my 6 month old. We settled into position and she latched on quietly. Suddenly I heard a "POP" and realized my hose had disconnected from my mask. I reattach it, looks fine. Look over at Amelia, she's nursing quietly. Then I feel something on my belly...look down to see Amelias hand slowly reaching to grasp the hose...haaaaaaaa! She's a little sneak! SMILE.

I am an accountant, so naturally right now is a bit of a stressful time. This afternoon when I went to pick up my four month old at school she was asleep in the swing. So I sat in a rocker and talked to her teachers for a bit. Usually I drop her off and my husband picks her up. She woke up shortly, heard my voice and squealed. So happy to see her mommy. A smiling baby is the best stress relief in the world.

I asked my son to help me wash my truck this afternoon while his little sister was napping and at first he said no, but then he saw the bucket of bubbles and decided to help me. So I started on one side of the truck with a rag and asked him to go to the other side and start cleaning. Next thing I know he's coming around me with his rag and keeps going. I backed up to see what he had cleaned so far and there was a line of bubbles all the way around the middle of my truck like a belt! Nowhere else--just the middle of the truck about his eye level! LOL! I had to laugh!

My 12-month old (turns one tomorrow) does not sleep through the night and only goes back to sleep after having nursed. The other night, after a monster nursing session (for the 3rd time), when I thought for sure he'd passed out, he popped his head off my chest. As I was getting ready for the fierce reprimand, he looked up at me (at 3:30 in the morning no less) and smiled a big, smirky grin in the dark. Good thing he's cute, or waking up in the middle of the night would be torture!

My youngest is going through a very rebellious, hardheaded, defiant stage. At the end of the day, I am very much looking forward to bedtime, just so that I can have a little peace and quiet and 'me' time. The other day, after a particularly bad spell where she was just defying me, left and right, and no amount of reprimanding, time outs, punishment, or anything at all of that nature worked, I finally just put her in her room and left her there to her own devices, knowing that I would have a disaster area to clean up later. She came out a little while later, climbed up into my lap on the couch, wrapped her arms around my neck and kissed me, saying 'Mommy, you are the best Mom EVER!'

My four year old daughter has a stong spirit and a tender heart (what a combo!). She loves the song "Cinderella" by Steven Curtis Chapman and wanted to dance to it with her daddy. As they were dancing, my husband told her how she was getting so big and was growing up so fast. She took his face in her hands and said to him, "Don't worry, daddy, I'll still come around. I won't leave forever." How precious to put a smile on my face (and maybe a few tears in my eyes...).

My seven year old is a real joker. He loves to get a reaction. We were at a kids night at a restaurant sitting at a table full of kids doing crafts. The leader of kids night said "if you could have anything you wanted, what would it be?" All the kids said normal things toys, pets, money. When it was my sons turn he said " I want a nuclear bomb." He though it was hilarious to see the looks on everyones faces. I was horrified at the time but now it seems pretty funny.

Thank you so much for offering this giveaway. My 10 year old son has always done very well in school, however in the first marking period this year, I was shocked when he got an F. After speaking with his teacher and us realizing that he didn't understand what she wanted from him in terms of written reports, his teacher and I sat down and explained what was expected. I was pleasantly surprised this pass marking period when he received an A. He actually for the first time ever got straight A's. I still have his report card on our fridge. I know he worked so hard for it. This really brought a smile to my face.
Thanks again.

We were having "one of those days" where everything seems to go wrong when you are rushing to get out the door and to top it off, we were on our way to the Dr for my daughters 1 year checkup/shots. She was grumpy, I was grumpy. On the way home we had to stop off for meds for her double ear infections (great). As we got home I realized that we were missing her favorite stuffed animal. I knew I had handed it to her at our last stop, right before I hit the button to close her door and to walk to my side of the car.... so we raced back to the store and there was her bear lying in the middle of the parking lot. On the wway home, she was chattering and talking to her bear. And as we got home I parked and turned to look at her and she had the biggest grin on her face and just smiled. I melted.

I'm so NOT a morning person and with a 6yo, 4yo, and 4 month old to get up every morning and the oldest 2 off to school I *really* don't want to climb out of bed. But being that the baby's 'talking' in his crib and the older two are fighting over a hot wheels car which is probably a dupicate the day does NOT get off to a good start. Did I mention this is 5 days a week? But the minute I walk into the baby's room and look over his crib he gives me the biggest toothless, slobbery smile with the highest pitch squeal he can achieve how can you keep a frown on your face?!

Normally, this is fine, but it's hard for me to chase an 18 month old when I am feeling crummy. But my frown was quickly erased I heard, "Awwww...." This is his commentary when he gives someone a hug. But this time, he was lying on the carpet in the rectangle of sun from the window and hugging the warmth of the floor.

I was checking some email (and possibly surfing some blogs) for a little too long, but the sound of my 4 year old and 2 year old giggling together in their tent which their father had put in our living room just made me smile. Despite the fact that my hubby had put a tent in my living room :)

My husband is gone working a majority of the time, so it's just me and my two girls. Some days are VERY trying. On those days that we are at each others' throats, I try to make sure to cuddle with both of them so they know that no matter what, we're still family and I still love them. I know it matters to them because my oldest will turn around and say, "Mommy, you're my best friend." Makes the rest of the day disappear.

My 1.5 yo came out of the kitchen munching on a chocolate chip muffin, which somehow he'd gotten on his own, and crumbs and chocolate chips were trailing all over the place. I found that he'd pulled the top off 6 of the 12 muffins trying to get his one out of the pan. Persistent little chocolate-covered rugrat! Love him!

Getting my 2 1/2 year old daughter dressed in the morning is a huge challenge and I have to fight through a lot of kicking and screaming. I'll do anything to get her excited about getting dressed and on Monday I told her that it was St. Patricks Day and we needed to wear green. Later she was drawing a picture and held it up to show me. She said "Mommy, look at my beautiful picture. Do you think that Patrick will like it?" Her take on life just makes me laugh and makes all the tough moments worth it!

My four year old daughter has special needs and knows nothing of personal space. After a day of trying to keep her from suffocating the newborn with hugs, shielding her brother from constant closeness, and just needing a minute myself - I was done. I sat down on the floor to change my son's diaper and my daughter was leaning over my back watching and talking. I was frowning at the continued close proximity. All of a sudden she got quiet. "He has a crayon, mommy," my sweet girl said. Frown GONE!

I stayed up way too late last night and had to wake up way too early this morning. As I was laying in bed contemplating all of the things I needed to do and wishing I could never get up, I heard my 7 month old son's sweet little voice over the baby monitor. "Mama," and then a little louder "Mama, Mama." He just learned his first word this week. I gladly got out of bed with a smile on my face.

Daniel is almost 2 and gets multiple time outs every day. His "time out" place is actually in his crib since he doesn't like being in there (or at least he didn't used to like it). I'll bring him up stairs, put him in time out and he just makes me laugh the whole time he's up there because he's in his crib singing, dancing, jumping, talking to himself, you name it. Of course I don't let him see me laugh. He won't let mom keep him down! : )

The youngest of our two sons exclaimed very proudly, "Hey, look at this big fishing worm!" He was actually holding a garter SNAKE!" Please enter this "older" mom in your drawing. A few months ago I was having an absolutely horrible day! My 20 mth. old daughter was being a wild child, my husband and I were mad at each other, and I just felt like going to my room and crying. When I went to put my little girl down for her nap I smiled at her and told her I loved her. She hugged me and patted my back and said "Don't worry momma, don't worry." I don't have any idea where she learned that, but it was like she knew I really needed some comfort right then. I still cried, but it was a good cry to have that sweet love from my baby girl!

My 4 year old came to me and said "Mom F@#k is a bridge right?" I was in total shock, I said WHAT!!! He repeated himself and I really didn't know what to say then he said, "you know with water that the beavers build." My 6 yr old who was laughing so hard said "NO that is a Dam" He knew it was a word that shouldn't be used, but a little confused on what one. WOW glad we straighten that one out.

My 22 month old daughter and I had been butting heads with eachother all day, no matter what I did, she would get mad at me and start to cry. Finally she grabed her little toy bag she has and started to head for the door. I told her "before you leave can I have a bye bye kiss". She instantly came back to me and gave me the best kiss and hug, and wanting to play.

I'm trying my best to teach my 22 month old to pick up his toys when he's done for the day. In the middle of one of those "pick them up and put them in the toy box" battles he comes over to me and lays his head on my 6 week old baby and hugs her. No more frown, who cares about the toys!

I was walking my son around the other day, trying to get him to take a nap. Well, he *finally* looked completely asleep, when he popped up, flung his arms around my neck and gave me the sweetest hug, and said "awwwwww mama". Ok, so, I really wanted him to take a nap, but it was just the most heartwarming thing ever. Also, my three year old's imagination is really starting to bloom, and I just love watching her play pretend. She makes different little voices for her toys and it's just sooooo cute. I know, everyone's little girls probably do that, but I can't help but smile. Thirdly(and I'll end it there for the sake of anyone trying to read this, but I could go on all day..lol), they love to set my husband's keyboard to play a song, then they dance around the living room over and over. I couldn't possibly explain how they dance or why this is the cutest thing ever, but it is. You'll just have to trust me on that one ;) Seriously, now I'm going to get all weepy cause I love them so much(the time of the month may be a key factor in this..). lol

Needless to say, I was kind of bummed out Thursday for that reason as well as having to drop my boys off at the sitter's house to go to this appt. After I got the boys' coats off, told them I loved them and was heading out, my youngest son who had already been playing with the pile of toys, comes running over and gives me a big, wet juicy. open-mouthed kiss and then took off to play again. Needless to say, the frown turned upside down and I realized how lucky I am despite the fact that they may be my only 2. :-)

There were months and years when he didn't say much at all. The biggest smile and frown eraser came when his speech teacher at the elementary school told me at his next IEP, it will be his last one. He has progressed so far that he won't need or even qualify for speech services anymore. My little chatterbox is definitely a reason not to frown!

I woke up with a migraine and could hardly function, but being a mom you don't really get to call in a sick day. So I tried to get some sleep while waiting for Elena (my 8 month old) to wake up at her usual time. I went in there to check on her and she was just playing with her blanket. I looked over the side of her crib and the smile that appeared as soon as she saw me could give light to a world of dark. Although it didn't take the migraine away, it made my spirit willing and I felt about 80% better. She's amazing and the fact that one little smile can do that just...just shows what a child means to a parent.

I was beyond fed up with tying ribbons and making sure each color bean was in the bag, not to mention my twin boys kept "sneaking" jelly beans from the bowl. I told them no more jelly beans, then my 2.5 year old son looked up with his big brown eyes and mischevious grin as he said "just oooone more mommy". Who could resist! 2 frowns wiped away, mine & his!

It was actually not my child but a cutie at the church. He came up while I was teaching him and smiled so big. He just kept getting in my face smiling. Finally it dawned on me he had a missing tooth. When i asked him about it he was so excited to tell me he had lost it that very morning.

My 2 1/2 year old and I walked past a Great Clips store and she asked me what was in the store. I said, "That is where you get your hair cut! Would you like to get your hair cut?" Her response was, "No Mommy, I will keep my hair on!" It still makes me smile!

At my 3 year old son's Easter School Party, I got there a little early and he introduced me to everyone as "His best good friend, Mommy" and the proud smile that he wore while "showing" me off was priceless. Forget removing a frowny, he add years to my life (which is good because when he broke his leg last summer and ended up in a cast from his ribs down, he took off about 10 years from my life and made my hair go grey) :)
