Here's another Earth Day deal from Amazon. This one's on a brand of diapers I've actually never heard of. I love that we're seeing "green" disposables (oxymoron, I know) cost less than premiums this month!
Amazon is offering a case of Natural Choice Environmentally-Sensitive Diapers (210 ct, size 3) for $35.24 when you subscribe with Subscribe & Save. That comes out to about .17 per diaper! Free shipping. If that's not cheap enough, see the end of this post for some .12 cent diapers!
According to the product description, these diapers use "20-30% less petroleum-based materials than the leading brands." The outer covers are made from annually-renewable plant fibers. The diaper as a whole uses 30-40% "more sustainable materials than the leading brands" with "comparable features and performance."
Pure n Gentle (diapers and training pants) and Aquakids (swimpants) products are also part of this Subscribe and save deal. The Pure n Gentle Ultra
size 3 diapers are just over .12 each!
Aside from the reviews on Amazon (3.5 out of 5 stars), there's very little out there about these diapers. Have any of you ever tried this brand? What did you think?

Natural Choice is not a great diaper. They are really rough feeling, not at all "cushy" and one of those "made for a brick" type diapers. I don't recommend them. If you're trying to go green with your diaper choice, stick to 7th Generation, it's worth the extra buck!
It sounds like they were papery-feeling and not "baby shaped."
Something tells me you don't like store brands, Anne! :)
Angie, do you use store brands?
Absolutely! We're just past the diaper stage now, but we tried half a dozen kinds of them (I had to write the reviews somehow!). I usually bought Target for daytime use because it was cheapest. I do have to say that for my son's particular elimination habits we used a premium at night.
I wouldn't say I don't like store brands but I guess I am pretty picky about my diapers ;). I love 7th Generation and thought I would try out a cheaper option to save a couple bucks but in the end it wasn't worth it.
Just wanted to share that you can sign up for coupons for seventh generation:

hi angie, i read your reviews on store brand diapers and was wondering if you have tried the costco/kirkland brand? i'm trying to decide between that brand and target's (i've never used target's). i recently tried babies r us "especially for baby" and they were pretty lame diapers!
Here's a link to our Kirkland (Costco) review:

I've tried Natural Choice and they are very papery and super stiff! Also, the sizing is off. The 4 is more like a 5. Tabs are not stretchy, and once they come undone they won't stick again. We had major leakage problems because they were so stiff they didn't form to his body. I did use the whole pack but couldn't wait for them to be done. I bought ours at meijers.
anon, I loooove the Kirkland brand. They are much thicker and cushier, with stretchier sides than the Target brand in my opinion. If we had a Costco around here, that would be what I use. But my mom just surprises me every so often with a box. :)
I haven't tried Kirkland because they are basically the same price as premium diapers on sale. Target I can get consistently cheaper. Lately Luvs have been cheaper as well.
How do find out how many diapers you get in a case pack from Amazon? I only see case pack but it doesn't say how many jumbo packs are in a case? Thanks!
With these, I could see the quantity when I added the diapers to the shopping cart.
Have you featured Nature Baby diapers yet? I like them as well, and they're available at most Targets
I've never heard of them. Maybe they're regional (not at Atl-area Targets)?
the kirkland brand diapers are just over 18 cents each, i'm not sure you can get pampers for that cheap even on sale and with coupons (but please correct me if i'm wrong and tell me how i can!)
I've used the Natural Choice wipes (found them at Sam's Club a while back) and couldn't stand them. They were quite thin, small, and I needed two or three at a time to wipe anything effectively.
I tried the Nature Baby diapers, which I got at an ATL area Target. (Kirkwood, I think.)
They were comparable to a premium, and if I made it to Target more often, I'd buy them more often. But they weren't worth a special trip.
If anybody would like to review Nature Baby, Natural Choice, or Seventh Gen diapers for BC, I'll buy you a jumbo's worth. Just email me.
I have used both Nature Babycare and Natural Choice. They are both pretty comparable to Pampers, which are my favorite. I do like the Nature Babycare better though simply because they are 100% biodegradeable. I also use cloth prefolds when we are at home and overnight. I got the Natural Choice at the commissary so they were alot cheaper and held up better than I thought they would.
The natural choice diapers work as well as pampers cruisers and use less petroleum. If you saw that national geographic special its amazing how many pints of oil are in a diaper. Its better than sevneth generation because they both are chlorine free bu seventth generation has the oil working against it. If cruisers are shaped that way why not a diaper that's good for the environment??
I just tried the Pure and Gentle diapers after seeing them mentioned on Preschoolers and Peace blog. They were $4.99 a package in my area, containing 34 in the size 4 and 40 in size 3 (I have a 6 month old and 23 month old.). They definitely aren't as soft as some others, but worked VERY well, even overnight with my heavy-wetting son.
We have also done well with the Natural Choice brand as far as cost and function, but had trouble with the tabs not sticking. :( We mostly cloth diaper but use disposables for outings and sometimes at night.
We just tried Natural Choice and love them. My daughter pees through generics and the commissary didn't sell 7th Generation - I was very pleased with these. They feel thin but we haven't had 1 leak. The tapes leave something to be desired but I'll take crappy tapes in trade for no leaks and less petroleum.
I use the Pure & Gentle. A pack of them at the store costs about $7. There isn't any stretch to the tabs, but the diapers are cute and work well.
We're on vacation and trying Natural Choice because we ran out of 7th Generations. So far less leaks and my daughter seems to prefer them. THey don't look like they fit as snug, but they are holding stuff in better than 7th Generations. We generally only use paper at night and cloth in the day, so I'm asking about 11 hours worth out of a diaper.
