Hey! It's an Amazon diaper deal with stockupportunity prices... as long as you're patient.
"Get a promotional certificate good for $20 off a future Amazon.com purchase when you spend $99 on select Pampers and Luvs products offered by Amazon.com. This offer applies only to purchases of products sold by Amazon.com between May 1 and May 31, 2008." Shipping is free.
The trick is to get your total as close to $99 as you can for maximum savings. The closest I've come (post your ideas below!) is $103.59. That actually comes out to a 19% savings if you treat the $20 gift card as a discount. See below for details.
- Size 3 economy packs (160 ct) of Cruisers
are 12% off at $40.99. Treating the gift card as 19% off brings the price down to under .21 per diaper.
- Luvs
are $34.53 for 204 size 3 diapers, about .17 per diaper. Treating the gift card as 19% off brings the price down to 13.7 cents per diaper.
If you prefer Luvs, how about three boxes as described above for $103.59? That's a 19% discount as well.
The only drawback is that you'll have to wait until July to get your gift certificate. Deal ends 5/31.

You can get these same size boxes of Cruisers at BRU or BJ's. Plus sometimes they have coupons and you don't have to spend $100... just a thought. I know that at my BRU these boxes are $38.99. My BJ's also has a special box of size 3 Cruisers for $34.99 which has 198 diapers. Plus you can use the new $4 off BJ's coupon that just came out, plus a manufacturer's coupon. Just wish my son could wear a size 3!! Especially since that comes out to be 14.9 cents per diaper.
Also, the fine print does say only one offer per household!
Just wanted to share that there will be worth $69 worth of coupons from various P&G Products this sunday.. So don't forget to check your Sunday papers! Products include: Clairol, Tampax, Pampers, etc.
Off subject- but also "on"... Has anyone researched or stopped buying P&G products because of the Church of Satan mess they have been linked with? I have found a couple articles but they are very vague. Any thoughts?
I think it's an "ok" deal. I also include the price of wipes in the equation, rather than apply the entire discount to just the diapers.
I would buy two boxes of Size 4 Cruisers (140 ea, 280 total) plus the $23.54 box of wipes (but it's not shown on the eligible items page, so that may be a problem). For a total of $105.52 ($81.98 diapers, $23.54 wipes)
Then I take my $20 discount, and apply 78% of it to the diaper price, and 22% of it to the wipe price (that is what percentage each cost is of the total purchase)
That puts me at $81.98-$15.60=$66.38 for diapers and $23.54-$4.40=$19.14 for wipes. Or, a unit cost of $0.237 per diaper, and $0.025 per wipe.
With a $5 off BRU coupon and a $1.50 manufacturer coupon, I can get the same size box of diapers for $0.232 per diaper. But they don't get conveniently shipped to my door! Which is a factor considering I have to drive to the store to get them.
hey anon!
Snopes.com is your friend!
thanks ali!
sounds like a good deal on amazon, but i cant afford to pay more than 40.00 in diapers in a single month.
anon 3:47,
Maybe you could share an order with someone?
Re: P&G and supposed "Church of Satan" link:
This is an internet hoax that's circulated since 1998. Check out the history at:
www.snopes.com/business/alliance/procter.asp
FYI, www.snopes.com is an EXCELLENT source to check out any "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is" claims. This would include, but is not limited to: free money from Bill Gates, claims about political candidates, poisons in everyday products, etc., etc.
Only because I don't know where else to post this, I'm posting here. I just got back from CVS and they have Huggies Supreme Wipes on Clearance for $3.00 (this is the big pack that's usually $5.99). Combine that with a coupon and it's a great deal. They also had Huggies Bath & Body Wash Cloths on clearance for $1.75 for a 20 pack (the big one) combine that with a $1.00 off a Huggies Bath & Body and you've got another steal!
The best place to post deals you find is in the comments section of that week's Top Diaper and Formula Deals of the week post.
Meghan: More than an Internet hoax. When I was growing up, we stopped buying P&G products because my dad heard this (from a trusted source. Unfortunately, no snopes.com back in the mid-80s) and we were boycotting them. I've since heard it may have been started by Amway -- one more reason to dislike them intensely
As for this deal... I don't know. Its a great deal for diapers -- if the gc is only used on something you would have bought otherwise.
I'm not sure but given a $20 gc at Amazon.com I wouldn't see it as "free money" and buy something that I would NOT have otherwise bought.
You'd have to be really strong, Sarah! ;)
Angie...
I know this has NOTHING to do with this post but I noticed your new pic. Is that from the Safari thing at Pine Mountain? We went there in the fall. Isn't that place amazing??? We were with a group so we got a bus and were the first group of the morning so all the animals were quite hungry. I have amazing pics of the giraffes with their heads all the way in the windows.
Thanks for letting me share...the picture reminded me of the great time we had there.
Just wanted to add that Huggies Snug and Dry diapers are changing, so they might be worth another try if you didn't like them before. I sent a letter to Kimberly Clark about Huggies Snug and Dry diapers and got a response back saying that "the new Huggies Snug and Dry diapers have an integrated back waistband and feature white, ergonomically-shaped closure tabs that are 50% larger than out previous design. Tabs have been added to the front of the diaper for easier application. For improved leakage protection with the messiest diapers, we have increased the height of the leakage control shields."
They also told me that the new diapers can be identified by the department code, which is found within the Kimberly Clark address on the package. The new diapers begin with the code HME.
Kelly,
You're right! That was in Pine Mountain. We had a great time! Stayed in FDR state park.
Just got back from shopping at Shop Rite and wanted to pass this deal on. I got a $5 off my next shopping order coupon printed at the register because I bought $25 or more in P&G products (Pampers boxes are $18.99 -size 3 has 80 diapers in a box. I used a $1.50 off coup from cheerios boxes which made it .21 a dipe. Good, but not great). I'll use it next week along with mannys as the boxes are on sale again for the same price plus buy the new dreft
2x and get another $5 off shopping order coup (starts Sunday)
Also at Shoprite I get Baby bucks coupons...$10 off any $75 of your shopping. $75 is nothing since this is our weekly grocery shopping which includes 3 Similac Neosure (@$16 each!) then some baby food and whatever diaper is on sale. I thought I'd pass this along since anon posted she shops at Shop Rite. make sure you ask (or sign up) for Baby Bucks! I think sometimes the clerk just takes off the $10 just because I come there so often!! This beats all other stores where I have to reach a certain $ amount which doesn't help me if I only can buy baby products at specific store, i.e. CVS, Walgreens, vs Shoprite where I can buy almost everything!
where can I find the $4 off bjs coupon?
